Healthcare Strategic Advisory Associate
Job Description
MSQ Ventures is seeking outstanding candidates to join our cross-border healthcare practice as an Associate. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a team operating at the center of the global life sciences industry with the goal of making innovative therapies available and accessible to patients in another region. The position will support all aspects of our cross-border advisory process, including identification of high potential biopharmaceutical companies and assets, sourcing of investment or partnering opportunities, due diligence, financial modeling and valuation, deal structuring, and negotiations.
Responsibilities:
Identify biotech companies with cut-edge technology addressing unmet clinical needs
Financial modeling, valuation, market research and other transaction-centric analyses
Reviewing primary clinical trial data, conducting diligence calls with physicians and other key players in the pharmaceutical ecosystem, and synthesizing diligence into strategic recommendations and models
Preparation of presentations for key internal constituents (management team) and external constituents (clients and partners)
Maintaining internal databases and create and publish periodic research or analytical content related to biotech sector and cross-border partnering
Participate in transaction management
Requirements:
Graduate Ph.D. and/or Masters in Biology, Bioengineering, Molecular Biology, Immunology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biomedical Engineering or other relevant majors
Strong communication skills with clients/partners; previous engagement with C-levels is preferred
Track record of independent scientific research and defense of analysis and thesis, to be translated to analysis in biotech business consulting and investment
Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in investment or consulting, work experience is preferred, but significant internship experience can also qualify
Direct healthcare therapeutics experience or demonstrated interest in healthcare therapeutics
Proficiency in English; Mandarin language skill is preferred
